Player & Metaverse

Samurai Legends features a fully-interactive massive multiplayer world — or metaverse. A metaverse is a virtual environment where users can interact with each other and the world itself. The Samurai Legends metaverse — known as the samuraiverse — provides the foundation for an open-ended virtual roleplaying environment full of value.

Enter The Samuraiverse

Set in feudal Japan, the samuraiverse consists of inner and outer provinces. Players vie for control of land and resources in the contested inner provinces and can permanently own and rule plots of land in Japan’s outer regions.

Player interaction is a cornerstone of the samuraiverse, allowing for alliances to be forged and enemies to be made. A player’s range of communication is intrinsically linked to their location in the game world.

All players start in Kyoto — the historical capital of feudal Japan. In the capital, players can socialise, go head to head in the arena, place bets in the tavern, cast their vote in the palace or browse for merchandise in the shop. During their time in Kyoto, players will be introduced to core game mechanics and prepare to venture out from the capital.

Become Legend

The player is represented by their player character — the primary unit used to interact with the samuraiverse. When a player enters the samuraiverse for the first time, their player character can be minted as an NFT for free and customised to personal preferences. Beyond character creation, a range of cosmetic items can be accessed via crafting, unlocks, and rewards.

Players can also customise elements beyond their player character. For example, all players have access to a personal base camp. It is situated in the same location as the player and is used to access customisation, crafting, and more. The base camp acts as a central hub to upgrade and show off to other players. In addition, players have access to a wide variety of pets found in the game world. Besides being great companions, they also give players benefits such as buffs and other bonuses.

All players start as a Nobleman — one of the four ranks found in the samuraiverse. Noblemen have access to many in-game features, such as travelling, trading, questing, ruling land and joining clans. More features are unlocked as the player progresses through the additional ranks — Samurai Commander, Daimyo and Shogun. The latter two ranks are impermanent positions that players must fight to maintain.

Being a Daimyo gives players real political power over regions of Japan, while the position of Shogun is limited to one player at a time — giving them ultimate authority in the samuraiverse. Ultimately, players must navigate a complex game world and choose their own paths to become legends.
